Quite simply Choose route & bike
Pedalmondo offers two types of bike, bags included – touring bikes and gravel bikes. Touring bikes are perfect for relaxed, extended voyages of discovery with plenty of comfort. Gravel bikes are made for sporty bikepackers who are after adventure and tend to plan shorter multi-day tours.
Your route can run through Switzerland or abroad, as long as pick-up and return take place in Switzerland. If you are not sure which route suits you, you will find inspiration in our blog articles. Quite simply Rent the bike
Our booking tool is deliberately simple, so you get to your bike quickly.
Start by entering your travel dates. Add the heights of everyone travelling, so we can have the right frame sizes ready. Set the pick-up and return dates – we show you straight away which bikes are available. There is no deposit to pay – we work on trust. Your rental is done in a few minutes.

Quite simply Pick up the bike
You can collect your bike from one of our local service partners or from a luggage counter at the railway station of your choice.
If you pick it up at a station luggage counter, you adjust the saddle yourself and fit the bags you ordered. About a week before your trip we email you all the documents you need for pick-up.
The handover is quick and smooth. You are ready to ride in a few minutes. It could hardly be easier.
Quite simply Return the bike
You receive the return documents from us before your trip – so there is nothing to organise on the road. After the tour, simply bring the bike to the agreed return point. Please hand it back in the condition you received it.

That is all there is to it – no hidden formalities. Your adventure ends as stress-free as it began. And maybe the planning for your next tour has already started.

Booking
Can I take the bikes abroad (outside Switzerland)?
That is generally no problem, as long as the bikes are returned on the agreed day at the agreed location.
What is the minimum rental period?
3 days
Can I cancel or change a booking?
Yes, free of charge up to 14 days before your trip starts. After that our Terms and Conditions

Pickup & return
Where do I pick up the bike, and where do I return it?
Pickup and return are flexible: you can choose from over 20 locations across Switzerland. Either at a major railway station, or at our partner in Bern, the Ski- und Velocenter at Hirschengraben.
Please note that pickup and return at railway stations involves an additional logistics fee.

How do I pick up and return the bike?
Pickup/return in Bern: simply go to our partner, the Ski- und Velocenter, and have everything explained to you. They have been informed in advance and are expecting you. Do not forget to bring your ID.
Pickup/return at a selected railway station: before your trip we send you a separate email with all the instructions and documents you need for pickup and return. Rented bags and helmets have to be removed or fitted and placed in a plastic bag provided by us.
Please note: we are not on site to explain the equipment or to adjust the bike with you — you are on your own there. For questions during pickup or return, use our WhatsApp chat.
When do I pick up?
During the railway station opening hours and/or the Ski- und Velocenter in Bern (closed Sundays and Mondays), depending on your itinerary. Please also check opening hours on public holidays.

Do you also rent tandems or e-bikes?
No. At the moment we only offer touring bikes and gravel bikes.
Can I buy a bike after renting it?
We specialise in rental, so no. If you are interested in a second-hand bike, you are welcome to contact us.
Which body heights and frame sizes do you cover?
We currently cover heights between 155 cm and 195 cm. If you are outside that range, just get in touch with us.
Which bags can I rent?
Up to five different bags depending on the model. Read more here
Do I need special cycling shoes? Can I fit my own pedals, saddle or handlebars?
All Pedalmondo bikes have flat pedals, so no special cycling shoes are needed. If you would rather use your own shoes, you are free to fit your own pedals. The same goes for any other modification: what matters is that you return the bike in the condition you received it.
